Crush it in 2011!

Alright folks January is OVER!!and I’m sure the number one thing on everyone’s new years resolution list was to get in better shape!!  How many of you are on track to make that happen?  Well here is the thing that never made a whole lot of sense to me. What does it mean to be in ” Better Shape”? Does that mean lose 5 lbs, gain some muscle,  build endurance? do you see where I am going with this, saying you want to get in better shape is very vague.

I am going to propose that there are two main factors why most weight loss or health related new years resolutions fail. One, is the simple fact that you really have no clue as to what you want to accomplish. You have no definite goals or deadlines, and even if you do have goals you have no idea where to even start! Its no different than getting in your car and trying to take a road trip without a map or any idea of how to get there, or where you are going for that matter!

The number two reason is because of lack of knowledge or guidance. I mean this one seems like a no brainier right? If you don’t know how to do something you find someone who does and have them teach you. When I wanted a degree I didn’t sit at home and teach myself, I went to college and had professors that already new the information teach me. Just like you get your haircut from a hairdresser, you don’t grab some scissors and do it yourself, or take your car to a mechanic rather than try to fix your transmission on your own. I could go on for days but hopefully you get the point.

So to sum this all up, first you need to have a goal, then take those goals and devise a plan, then find a coach that can help you get the results you are after! Thinking you are just going to do the same thing you did last year ( which probably didn’t work then) and get results this year, will get you nothing but the same misery as last year. Now is the time to stand up look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, “Am I ready to take fitness off my resolution list for good?”  Or will it forever be on your list, as some white whale that you will never catch?

The way I see it is you have two options. One, do the same thing you have always done and keep getting frustrated because you are actually gaining weight. Or two get with a coach and program that has a track record of getting people in the best shape of their life!! So the choice is yours, which one will you choose this year?

Stop making EXCUSES and CRUSH IT in 2011!!
